Important Change to Council Annual Rates Notices

Mount Isa City Council have changed the way rate notices will be issued to all ratepayers.

For the 2024-2025 financial year, Council will now issue one (1) rate notice, with four (4) quarterly instalments.

The issue date of the rate notice for the 2024-2025 financial period is 1 August 2024. You will notice substantial changes to the look of the rate notice. The notice will display four (4) quarterly instalments, with the period that each quarter covers; the issue date of the quarterly instalment; the due date of the quarterly instalment; and the amount owing for that quarterly instalment.

The quarterly instalments, periods covered, issue date, and due date for each instalment is as follows:

Quarter 1 Instalment

Period Covered: 1 July 2024 to 30 September 2024

Rates Notice Issue Date: 1 August 2024

Due Date: 1 September 2024

Quarter 2 Instalment

Period Covered: 1 October 2024 to 31 December 2024

Rates Notice Issue Date: 1 August 2024

Due Date: 1 November 2024

Quarter 3 Instalment

Period Covered: 1 January 2025 to 31 March 2025

Rates Notice Issue Date: 1 August 2024

Due Date: 1 February 2025

Quarter 4 Instalment

Period Covered: 1 April 2025 to 30 June 2025

Rates Notice Issue Date: 1 August 2024

Due Date: 2 May 2025

If you have outstanding rates and charges, the outstanding amount will be included for payment in your first instalment.

Introducing the New-Look Mount Isa City Council Annual Rate Notice

Mount Isa City Council Annual Rate Notices for the 2024-2025 financial year have been issued.

The issue date of the notices is 1 August 2024. All ratepayers will begin to receive their notices in the mail over the next week. If you have signed up for electronic notices, via eNotices or BPay View, you will begin to receive your notices from today.

Council encourages rate payers to register with eNotices or BPay View with your financial institution to receive your rate notices electronically.

As Council have moved to issuing notices once per annum, the rate notice layout has changed.

Changes on your new notice include:

  • Introducing Payble – QR Code to register to a new payment provider to enable ratepayers the flexibility to make one-off payments from your bank account, credit or debit card, set and forget payments and to receive reminder SMS before your next payment is due. Council encourages ratepayers to register with Payble today.
  • Charges displayed for the whole financial year.
  • Payment options which show the quarterly instalments with period, issue date, due date, and amount.
  • Lump sum payment amount option.

Introducing Payble

Council is excited to introduce a new payment provider called Payble. Scan the QR code on your rates notice to sign up to this today.

There are no extra fees when you elect to pay your rates with Payble, and signing up allows you to access benefits of the system which include:

  • The ability to pay your rates in regular instalments or make a one-off payment.
  • Set-and-forget payments via a bank account, credit or debit card.
  • Receive and SMS reminders before your payment is due.
  • Freedom to easily update your information at any time.
  • Safe and secure.

More information on the new Payble system will be available on Council’s website over the coming days. Council encourages ratepayers to register for Payble and take advantage of your rate payments with ease.
