Due to a strong dust-devil at the Sunset Lawn Cemetery on Thursday night, a number of ornaments and flowers have unfortunately been damaged. Council is respectfully asking for residents to please visit the cemetery over the coming days to determine whether the ornaments for their loved ones' graves have been affected. Damaged ornaments and flowers have not been removed from the cemetery.

Registrations close on Friday, April 28, 2023.
The focus of this year's Free Plants Day is endemic plants and veggies. The Free Plants Day collection day will be held in May or June 2023 at the Mount Isa Mines Entertainment Centre, Buchanan Park.
PLEASE NOTE: Only residents of Mount Isa and Camooweal are eligible to take part in Free Plants Day. People who own multiple properties are not eligible to receive plants for each property. The plants are given per household, not per property. (Household definition: one or more people who live in the same dwelling.) If you do not collect your plants on the day, or do not get someone to collect them for you, you will not receive the plants.
Camooweal residents will be contacted separately regarding pick-up times and locations.
Mount Isa City Council takes no responsibility for the care of the plants once they have been given to a new plant owner.
