From December 2024, Mount Isa will introduce a new 240L yellow recycling bin to help reduce landfill waste and create a valuable recycling stream.
Implementing recycling in Mount Isa offers significant advantages including the reduction of QLD Levy costs, which will lead to substantial financial savings for the community in the coming years. Additionally, recycling helps to extend the lifespan of the local landfill, reducing the environmental impact and need for costly expansions.

- Red waste bins (general waste) will be collected weekly.
When you receive your yellow bin, you will find a starter kit inside, including a calendar, flyer, and helpful materials to get started.
