Brilliant Street Carpark

Completed in July 2024

Council received funding from the State Government to build a 46-space carpark in Brilliant Street. The location of the carpark is shown in the figure below. It is opposite St Joseph's Catholic Primary School and in between Happy Valley Kindergarten and Meals on Wheels.

As well as the carpark, the existing toilet block was demolished and a new toilet block was constructed behind Meals on Wheels. The existing bore was decommissioned, and the water tanks removed and relocated.

Miles Street Carpark

The demolition of the redundant toilet blocks and works building within the public car park on 34 Miles Street will take place from Monday, September 23, to Saturday, October 5, 2024.

The demolition works are due to future upgrades of the car park. The toilets are no longer required, due to a replacement amenity block established at Centennial Place.

The works will involve traffic management, the temporary closure of the car park (affecting the adjacent footpath), site fencing, the removal of material, and the preparation of the area for asphalt repair works (to be carried out four weeks after the demolition works).

An EV fast-charging station is also anticipated to be constructed at the site in the future.
