Apprenticeships

Trade-based roles keep us moving! Would you like to commence a trade-based apprenticeship in a trade like diesel fitting (mechanical engineering), small engineering mechanic, or plumbing?

Apprentices are engaged for the life of the study program and are provided opportunities for study blocks with the RTO and complete on-the-job learning.

Traineeships

Traineeships are your stepping stone into the workforce. A traineeship with Mount Isa City Council will be for a period of 12 months and involves both on- and off-the-job training through TAFE or another registered training organisation. Get paid to study, with a minimum of 5 hours per week during working hours as study time!

Work Experience

Mount Isa City Council offers unpaid Work Experience to local school students at various times throughout the year. If you are interested in undertaking Work Experience with Mount Isa City Council, please discuss this with your Careers Advisor at your school who will contact the Council on your behalf to source Work Experience opportunities.
