Benefits for Employees
At Mount Isa City Council, we value our employees and believe in helping them be their best, be it at work or in life.
We want you to be able to work to live, rather than just “live to work”, and recognise the importance of a healthy work/life balance. Achieving balance in your life is vital to being a productive and happy employee. That’s why we have a range of benefits available to our employees:
Working Hours
Administration and Library full-time employees work a 36.25-hour week under a Flextime Agreement.
Outdoor full-time employees work 40 hours per week with a rostered day off each month.
Leave Entitlements
All full-time employees accrue up to five weeks' annual leave for each year of service. A full-time employee accrues 15 days of Sick Leave (Personal/Carer’s Leave) for each year of service.
Superannuation
Mount Isa City Council contributes 12% superannuation when the employee contributes a mandatory 6% towards superannuation.
Council Uniform
Corporate uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment are provided to all employees and is replaced based on fair wear and tear.
Wellbeing
Physical
Council provides employees with an annual reimbursement of up to $300.00 per annum on approved sporting organisations to support the community and to promote physical wellbeing.
Mental
Council offers all employee access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Council’s EAP provider delivers obligation-free, confidential counselling sessions for the employee and their immediate family.
